As a new subject of agricultural management, family farm is an effective form to promote intensification, specialization and scale of agricultural production. Taking the pioneer family farm in Xishan district of Wuxi City as an example, this paper in-depth explored the development motive force and actual operation situation of family farm. The results showed that in the process of actual development, family farms are currently facing many difficulties such as, financing difficulty, imperfect agricultural insurance system, excessive intervention of local government, and imbalance of agriculture policy. From five aspects such as admittance identity, support and management, cooperation and motivation, socialized services, and raining of professional farmers, this paper proposed relevant measures to establish the sustainable development mechanism of family farm.
