With the accelerated process of urbanization,increased consumption of natural gas and the gap between supply and demand, China's energy security is facing serious challenge. From the perspective of low-carbon economy, the paper discusses the feasibility of biogas modernization for that the state supports policies, rich biogas source, and technology maturity. It also discuss biogas purification, connected in natural gas pipelines“grid”and applied to hybrid vehicles. It believes that modernization of biogas industry not only a viable carbon emission reduction measure but also a choice strategy of development of China’s biogas industry in the future
