The design and application of new rural landscape in the development of agritourism: A case study of the“ beautiful country” project in Yichang

Agritourism is one of the modern agriculture development directions and has important functions in the transformation of the rural production pattern in our country. Using Yichang’s new rural landscape design for agritourism project as an example, this paper examined the existing problems in the construction of new rural landscape, summarized the lessons and experiences, evaluated the innovation practices in agritourism design, and discussed the application characteristics of landscape design in different models. Results indicate that the landscape design in agritourism has economic, ecological and humanistic values. However, the current new rural landscape construction has relatively simple design, unreasonable landscape planning, and incomplete landscape facilities. So we must pay attention to the environmental elements, consider the local conditions, highlight the characteristics of folk culture, reflect the thought of design aesthetics, focus on the natural landscape beauty, and reveal the harmonious beauty between natural beauty and artificial designs. Specifically, for the design of the agritourism in Yichang City, this paper summarized three different design models for agritourism: the urban-rural integration model in Guanzhuang village, the ecological green model in Dengcunping village, and the folk culture model of Leizuzhen village. To better serve the purpose of the agritourism design, this paper also suggests to increase the functions and aesthetic of the agritourism design, to combine artificial construction with the natural environment, and to consider the geographic location, cultural customs, and economic conditions for agritourism design.
