Analysis on Regional Advantages of China’s Meat Duck Industry——Based on Researches in 21Main Waterfowl-producing Provinces (Cities and Districts)

  • With the theory of comparative advantage, this article conducts a comparative analysis on China’s producing distribution of meat duck industry. The results show that China’s dominant regions of meat duck production are mainly distributed in the industrial belts in eastern, southern, southwestern and central China. Among these regions, three provinces, Shandong, Jiangsu and Guangdong, have distinct producing advantages. From the perspective of analysis on resource endowment advantages, some provinces (cities and districts) have different degrees of advantageous, such as Shandong, Hainan, Sichuan, Guangxi, Henan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Chongqing, Jiangxi and so on. Meanwhile, analysis on comprehensive comparative advantages suggests that Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Hainan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan and Beijing, these provinces obtain different advantageous. On these grounds, some countermeasures and suggestions are proposed in this article. These are reasonable planning of regional distribution should be realized and China should further promote the optimization and integration of main duck-farming provinces; China’s main duck-producing provinces with regional advantages should be centralized forwards industrial belts; the industrial chain of meat duck should be optimized with the improvement of organization degree; the new healthy farming model should be employed with the transformation from relying on resource endowment advantages to technical and capital advantages.
