Monitoring and Empirical Analysis on Level of Guangdong Province Agricultural Modernization

This article improved the existed “ evaluation index system on agricultural modernization in Pearl River Delta(2010)”, then evaluated the developing level of Guangdong, four regions and 21 prefectural-level cities agricultural modernization by the improved indexes. The results show that, to the year of 2009, Guangdong had made great progress in agricultural modernization. The structure of the index up-to-standard rate had obviously improved. However, the production means and capacity indexes still fall behind, such as the total agricultural machinery power of per farmer, the gross agricultural production value of per farmer etc. The regional development is still unbalance. To make sure that Guangdong Province can successfully reach the goal of agricultural modernization in 2020 on schedule, based on the difficulties and problems of present situation, the dissertation put forward some advices such as continuing to increase the support on farm machinery, establishing a plurality of farmland water conservancy investment mechanism, strengthening the qualities and special skills training of agricultural labor force in the future for Guangdong.
