Hot Issues Analysis of Food Security in China

  • The food security is a vital issue yet under the background of resources elements fleeing from food production and a more serious situation of world food security. In currently, there are heated debates on food security, for example, the advantages and disadvantages of climate warming to food security, whether the transgenic technique should be adopted or not, the effects of the development of low-carbon economy to food security. Based on analyzing those different viewpoints, the paper put forwards that the influences of climate warming, transgenic technique and low-carbon economy to food security are bidirectional, and the key of food security protection is make the best use of circumstances. In the context of climate change, promote water conservancy facilities construct and enlarge effective irrigation area become key measures of grain production. Whether the transgenic technology should be promoted or not depend on the demand, what we should do is strengthen the research as a technical reserves. With the arrival of the era of low-carbon economy, grain production should start from input low carbonization, output low carbonization, carbon fixation and carbon emission control.
