Precision agriculture promotes the integration of the industrial chain, the value chain and the benefit chain of modern agriculture

The industrial chain, the value chain and the benefit chain of agriculture should be integrated to form a virtuous cycle and the three chains should develop in an integrated and coordinated way, which leads to the realization of the ultimate goals of improving the quality and the competitiveness of agricultural products and increasing farmers’ income. Based on the continuation of the relationship among the industrial chain, the value chain and the benefit chain, this paper seeks to analyze the target deviation in the integration of the three chains, to find an ideal model, and to explore the mechanism of precision agriculture promoting the development of the integration of the three chains, and to discuss the ways to extend the industrial chain, to enhance the value chain and to optimize the benefit chain. Results show that currently due to the limitation of industrial entities, technology, and market, the mechanism of value formation, benefit sharing, risk resistance, and product pricing has not been well developed. Thus, it leads to a deviation from an integrated industrial value chain and hinders the expansion of the industrial chain, the promotion of the value chain, and the improvement of the benefit chain. Precision agriculture will help to achieve the goal through the refinement of agricultural production inputs, processes and outputs, and effectively to promote the integration of the three trains of agriculture. In order to allow farmers to share the value-added benefits of the entire industrial chain, to increase farmers’ income, and to promote agricultural modernization development, it is necessary to strengthen the base construction for precision agriculture. In addition, promoting the integrated development of the three industries in rural areas will help create the engine for the integration and innovative deep processing method for agriculture products will help push the integration. This paper also suggests optimizing the mechanism of connecting key stakeholders to bridge the integration and improving the policy support system and agricultural service systems to strengthen the support for the integration of the three chains.
