Design of monitoring system for vegetable greenhouse planting in LabVIEW

  • There are many shortcomings such as poor equipment, lack of effective monitoring and low efficiency on investment for vegetable greenhouses in north China. A monitoring system for vegetable greenhouse planting is designed based on LabVIEW which can overcome the shortcomings above. Some of the parameters such as temperature, humidity, light, some gas (O2, CO, CO2) density, fertilizer solution density and flow are sampled by different sensors. These signals are transformed and converted to digital ones and processed by PC. The monitoring software which is based on the producer/consumer framework in LabVIEW is programmed. The environmental parameters in vegetable greenhouse can be acquired and displayed in real-time by the monitoring system. And the parameters can be controlled rapidly and stably by the output PWM waves to adjust them into the preset range. Visible and simple interactive interface is designed by the User-defining Controls of LabVIEW. The system for vegetable greenhouse planting accomplishes the functions of environmental monitoring, automatic drip irrigation and fertilizer compounding.
