Research on the effects and mechanisms of digital transformation in enhancing the resilience of pork industry chain enterprises

With increasing market volatility and external shocks, enhancing the resilience of pig industry chain enterprises has become crucial for ensuring food security and the sustainable development of the industry. This study investigates the impact of digital transformation on the resilience of pig industry chain enterprises and its underlying mechanisms, aiming to provide policy-relevant evidence for improving enterprise resilience. Using panel data of listed pig industry enterprises from 2010 to 2023, this study employs fixed effects models and mediation effect models for empirical analysis. The results show that digital transformation significantly enhances the resilience of pig industry chain enterprises. This effect is mainly achieved by improving total factor productivity and reducing supply chain concentration. Furthermore, the positive impact of digital transformation is more pronounced in enterprises with high levels of internal control, strong growth potential, and superior overall performance in environmental, social, and corporate governance. Based on these findings, this study suggests that the government can promote enterprise digital transformation through fiscal or financial support, improve the efficiency of resource allocation, enhance total factor productivity through technological innovation, build diversified supply chain systems, and design differentiated support policies according to enterprise characteristics.
