Abstract: Urbanization and agricultural modernization rely on each other. Promoting the coordination between urbanization and agricultural modernization is the important content of Chinese characteristics road of new industrialization, information, urbanization and agricultural modernization. Kunshan is the first top hundred counties, as one of the Modernization Construction Demonstration Areas of Southern Jiangsu, the rate of resident population urbanization researches 92.39%, and enters the basic realization of agricultural modernization stage. It also has the advantage of new urbanization and agricultural modernization policy, but there are also some problems and challenges, for example, the quality of urbanization and agricultural modernization is not high, the challenge of “dislocation” and competition for land, the target of social capital investing in agriculture, and so on. According to the practice of Kunshan City, we need to explore the coordinated development path between new urbanization and agricultural modernization with Kunshan characteristic, accelerate institutional innovation, to promote equalization of public services and the process of urban-rural integration, build modern industry system to support the new urbanization and agricultural modernization, and construct scientific and reasonable pattern of urbanization and agricultural development. Also we need further to improve and innovate safeguard mechanism of land and funds diversified investment mechanism, to establish implementation of coordination mechanism of new urbanization and the development of agricultural modernization as soon as possible.
