Abstract: As one of the fastest growing poultry industries of China, waterfowl industry has gradually become the most active growth point of rural economy and the pillar industry to increase farmers'' income. This paper analyzes the status quo of competitiveness of waterfowl industry from three aspects, the international competitiveness, inter-industry competitiveness and industrial competitiveness. With the characteristics of industrial development, the paper analyzes four influencing factors of waterfowl industry, price competitiveness, quality competitiveness, technology competitiveness and organization competitiveness. Ultimately, some suggestions on choosing promoting path of waterfowl industry are proposed to promote the healthy and fast development of waterfowl industry, such as lowering the costs through technology, establishing and perfecting the control system of quality and security, forming industry union, improving waterfowl industry chain, promoting market-oriented deep processing of waterfowl industry, strengthening governmental macroeconomic regulation, and providing policy support.
