Abstract: Based on PSR model, this paper established a set of scientific and practical index system in evaluating the intensive use of cultivated land and conducted an evaluation in Guanzhong region from 2000 to 2009 using entropy method and comprehensive index method. Factor analytic method was used to analyze the driving forces of intensive use of cultivated land. The results showed that the indices of intensive cultivated land use in Guanzhong fluctuated from 2000 to 2009 and had a downward trend for the last two years. The intensive use level of cultivated land took an obvious spatial variation in Guanzhong region. The main driving forces influencing the intensive use of cultivated land in Guanzhong region are socioeconomic, cropping system and natural factors.
