农村人口老龄化对农业绿色全要素生产率的影响及空间效应研究

Research on the impacts of rural population aging on agricultural green total factor productivity and its spatial effects

  • 摘要: 探讨农村人口老龄化对农业绿色发展的驱动效应,对于实现农业现代化具有重要意义。本文基于2013—2022年中国31个省份的面板数据,采用超效率SBM模型、ML指数法和空间计量模型,系统考察农村人口老龄化对农业绿色全要素生产率的影响、作用机制及空间效应。结果表明:2013—2022年我国农业绿色全要素生产率总体呈上升态势,技术进步是推动其增长的主导力量,空间上呈现“东高西低、南弱北强”的分布特征;农村人口老龄化显著促进农业绿色全要素生产率提升,且这一作用存在明显区域异质性,对产销平衡区和粮食主销区的促进效应更强;农村人口老龄化通过倒逼农业生产服务外包,形成劳动力替代与功能补偿效应,进而推动农业绿色全要素生产率提升;农村人口老龄化对农业绿色全要素生产率的空间溢出效应在经济联系紧密的地区尤为显著,而在地理邻近性较强的地区则不明显。据此,应加快完善区域协同的农业生产服务体系,大力发展适老型农业,全面推动农业绿色转型升级。

     

    Abstract: Examining the driving effects of rural population aging on agricultural green development is of great significance for advancing agricultural modernization. Based on panel data from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China over the period of 2013-2022, this study employs the super-efficiency slack-based measure model, the Malmquist-Luenberger index, and spatial econometric models to systematically investigate the impacts, underlying mechanism, and spatial effects of rural population aging on agricultural green total factor productivity. Results show that China’s agricultural green total factor productivity exhibited an overall upward trend during 2013-2022, with technological progress serving as the primary driving force, and with a spatial pattern characterized by “higher in the east than in the west, and stronger in the north than in the south.” Rural population aging significantly promotes improvements in agricultural green total factor productivity, although this effect displays marked regional heterogeneity and is stronger in grain-producing-and-marketing-balanced areas and major grain-marketing areas. Rural population aging also boosts agricultural green total factor productivity by inducing the outsourcing of agricultural production services, thereby generating labor substitution and functional compensation effects. In addition, the spatial spillover effect of rural population aging on agricultural green total factor productivity is particularly pronounced in regions with close economic linkages, whereas it is not significant among geographically adjacent regions. Accordingly, efforts should be made to accelerate the improvement of regionally coordinated agricultural production service systems, vigorously develop age-friendly agriculture, and comprehensively advance the green transformation and upgrading of agriculture.
