Abstract: Prioritizing high-quality development is critical to building a modern socialist country. Supporting the accelerated development of old revolutionary base areas is a major strategic deployment and decision of the Party Central Committee. Taking the old revolutionary base area of Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province as an example, this paper analyzed the advantages and existing problems of its high-quality agricultural development and explored the path to promote the high-quality development of agriculture in the Ganzhou old revolutionary base area. Results show that promoting the high-quality development of agriculture in Ganzhou has important political, economic, ecological, and social significance. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Ganzhou has made significant achievements in high-quality agricultural development, including poverty alleviation, economic growth, improved ecological environment, higher quality agricultural products, and the establishment of the Ganzhou agriculture brand. In the new era, promoting high-quality agriculture in Ganzhou has favorable conditions and advantages, including favorable climate, abundant resources, good ecology, and policy support. However, there also exist some problems and shortcomings, including declining food production, idle arable land resources, agricultural pollution, declining agricultural efficiency, lack of rural labor, and a fragile agricultural foundation. Therefore, to promote the high-quality development of agriculture in the old revolutionary base area of Ganzhou in the new era, it is crucial to fully utilize farmland resources, enhance food production, improve agricultural ecological environment, expand agricultural production, increase economic benefits, strengthen support for agricultural science and technology, and cultivate new professional farmers.
